We have established the Public Service Commission to support the highest levels of integrity, impartiality, ability, innovation and leadership within the public sector. We want the NSW public sector to be the best in the nation and a world leader.
We are establishing Service NSW, a new and customer-focused government organisation that will become the main interaction point for government customers of key transaction services. Headed by the Customer Service Commissioner, it will put the citizen, the customer, at the centre of public services.
Strengthening the powers of independent ‘watchdogs’, making more government information easily available, and enabling citizens to critique services will require government to continually improve its own performance.
